Printer PARtner
Printer PARtner is an app that offers clear step-by-step instructions for using the Albertsons Library printer. It utilizes visual, auditory, and tactile cues to guide users through the process. The app aims to assist users, including those unfamiliar with printing in the school library and those with visual or auditory impairments. Through augmented reality technology, users receive visual instructions overlaid on the real world. Haptic feedback and text-to-speech features provide additional sensory cues, making the instructions more engaging and accessible. The implementation of these features was essential to the app's effectiveness, benefiting users, especially those on the autism spectrum. While encountering challenges during implementation, such as limited documentation, the team resolved them by leveraging ChatGPT for haptic functions and adapting entity names for text-to-speech functionality. Overall, the haptic feedback and text-to-speech features greatly enhance the app's effectiveness, improving user engagement and accessibility.
